Home Activity 1

Here are the home activities for week 1 (March 15).  Have fun and call or email if you need help!  Our next WizKids session is Wednesday, March 29 at 4pm.

You are the Producer.  Make a plan of your movie using your planning sheet.  Think about Who, What, When, Where, and Why.  Who will be in your movie?  Here is an extra planning sheet if you need it.  See if you can download it and print it at home. Here is a diagram of the entire movie.

Words of the Week:  You will get 1 point for each word you define and 2 points for each word that you correctly use in a sentence.  Remember, the sentence must be correct!  Here are this week's words:

        1 point        Waiting quietly while signing in.
        1 point        Getting along with other Wizkids.

4. Persistence:
        1 point        Trying to complete home activities.          

5. Team Player:
        1 point        Assisting Wizkids with their work            

6. Behavior:
        1 point        Following the rules of the computer lab.
        1 point        Listening to your fellow Wizkids.
        1 point        Being courteous and respectful.

7. Follow-up:
        1 point        Answering your email.
        1 point        Completing home activities.

Welcome Back Wizkids!

Welcome back to the Spring 2006 session of St. Louis WizKids.  Today at 4pm CST we begin a new and exciting adventure into moviemaking and financial planning.  We'll be making a movie about St. Louis WizKids.  We'll learn to use a digital camera and use Microsoft Movie Maker (can you download it?).  We'll learn to narrate our movie so we can tell our story about what WizKids means to us and our families.

We'll also learn about money and we'll get money too.  We always ask the WizKids what kinds of incentive prizes they want and invariably they say "Money"! So we have some banks called Moonjars and we'll learn about the 3 things we do with money:  Share it, Save it, and Spend it! 

We'll add to the fun of home acitvities with new things to do to earn points.  Of course, we'll still use BrainPop and The Futures Channel so the kids can compete and earn points.
